At Utilize, we're dedicated to making a positive impact on our environment by sourcing plastic waste streams from both local and international sources. By harnessing these diverse materials, we not only contribute to reducing waste but also extend our creative boundaries. Local Materials: r-PETG Our stunning clear r-PETG is typically recycled from industrial sheet plastic waste or other local waste stream sources. r-PLA Our glossy r-PLA is produced from discarded or failed 3D prints. PLA This high-quality, locally-produced filament is made from plant polymers such as cornstarch that can be commercially composted back into the earth. Overseas Materials: r-PETG Our gorgeous glossy translucent colours are r-PETG filament that is derived from a consistent stream of thermoformed, medical tray waste. These are recycled in Flevoland and delivered to a facility in North Amsterdam where extrusion takes place. r-PLA Our matte r-PLA is sourced from a consistent stream of recycled food packaging waste used in fruit boxes, straws and containers. It is collected, sorted and pre-processed by a leading recycler in the Benelux region then delivered to the same extrusion facility.

Absolutely! If we have your preferred colour in stock, we can print it in 2-5 days. If the colour is not in stock, we will look at ordering more material and confirm how long this may take (likely a 1-2 weeks). Please get in touch if you are interested and we can let you know if it’s possible. Colour Options: Overseas Filament: r-PLA (matte) - Terracotta, Ochre, Cobalt, Eggshell, Blossom, Sage, Black, White r-PETG (translucent) - Dark Emerald, Burnt Amber, Sun Glow NZ made filament: r-PLA (glossy) - Black, White, Orange r-PETG - Black, White, Clear Reach out for any exclusive or custom colours - our suppliers have more available.

Simple, just reach out! Please email all enquiries for custom-made orders to team@utilize.nz. First, you can tell us about your idea and we will give you an estimated quote. If you go ahead, we will require a 50% deposit before beginning the CAD (computer aided design) modelling. Once we have created the design, we will send through a photo-real render of the design for your approval. Depending on the design, we can make small tweaks before printing the final product. Once the final design is printed, we will require the balance and deliver your stunning design for you to enjoy. If we are recreating an existing design but in a different colour, we will jump straight into manufacturing the piece once we receive payment. Depending on your ideas and budget, we can come up with designs and the final product relatively quickly. Please allow 2-4 weeks for the design process and manufacture.

Currently, we only have small scale 3D printers with a maximum printing volume of 220mm x 220mm x 270mm high, so we can custom make one to fill the entire bed plate if you wish. We aim to purchase a large scale 3D printer in the next year to produce lighting, furniture and other larger scale items.
